So far WoWProgress only did one team per guild rankings even though many guilds contain multiple raiding teams that raid separately.
And now you can
create Raid Teams on WoWProgress!
- each team participates in progress rankings
- separated team profiles with separated recruitment!
- making independent cross-guild teams is possible!
Please read the full post carefully if you want to join a raid team or create one.
- Important! To avoid progress duplication, joining a raid team equals leaving guild regarding contributing to the guild progress. Team's progress is entirely independent, and only players that didn't enter any team can participate in the guild's progression (more details below)
- raid team may have a parent guild: in this case, officers of the parent guild are able to move their players in and out of child teams quickly
- a parent guild is not necessary, anyone can create a team and invite friends from different guilds to raid and progress together
- raid team may consist unlimited amount of characters, up to 30 unique players (the limit is discussable, if you think you need more people, please let us know)
- boss kill requires at least 11 players from the same team to be counted
- a character can be a part of only one raid team
What you must know if you are going to join a raid team:
- if you are a core raider of your guild, you must not join any raid team unless the officers have decided that core progress is going to be in the separated raid team
- it is possible to leave your team any time
What you must know if you are a guild officer/leader:
- plan your guild structure carefully, once joining a raid team, a player won't contribute to the core guild progress
- if things are messy, the guild master will be able to move raid progress between teams or between a team and its parent guild, it will be possible to remove team as well if the team belongs to the guild
- you wouldn't be able to control raid teams that don't belong to your guild even if members of your guild joined them
Open questions:
- should we only have Guilds & Teams combined Rankings, or there should also be Guilds-only Rankings?
We plan to enable this feature in the middle of this week when Uldir Raid progression starts.
At the moment you can
create your raid team.
Please let us know what do you think about Raid Teams.

So this is what I personally would like to see:
- World, Region & Realm Rankings for the raid teams within a guild (this basically only matters in Mythic).
- If a guild has multiple teams in the rankings for it to look something like Guild Name [Team] to ensure that the team itself gets recognition as well (this is very valuable for recruitment reasons).
- Raid teams outside of guilds to not have rankings (is this for the cross realm communities?) as it will confuse people looking for guilds. Cross realm communities are unaffected by rankings as well since they have never had them and don't operate the same way most guilds do.
- Removal of rankings or adjusted rankings for guilds that faction/realm transfer or rename. I stopped using wowprogress rankings since they were way off, making guilds look worse than they should have.
- The other issue that will occur from allowing this is recruitment needs for different groups. Opening the team rank can of worms is going to make people want to adjust recruitment needs by group. Main groups being the group that have the highest progression outside of listed teams and the teams themselves will likely want to adjust those needs as the tiers progress/change.
Based on what you're saying and other comments though, it seems like guilds will need to make sure their best raid team stays without a team in order for the guild to get a ranking currently and any additional teams need to be separated in order for them to record their personal progression.
For example, in Synthesis we have a weekday and weekend team. Our weekday team would need to remain teamless in order to stay in the top 100 rankings while our weekend team that has never had ranks anyways can make a team. Of course, I still would love to know how well our weekend team is doing overall, but I am not sure if that's something this is intended for or not.
Maybe make it so all teams can have a rank with the highest ranking team’s progression showing to anyone viewing the guild instead or something? I’m not sure yet since I haven’t seen what you have implemented in action. I just know I don’t want our weekday team (or guild) losing out on progression if teams don’t show rankings where it matters (and it definitely matters for us).

Just because we never have had them does not mean we don't want to see how we compare to regular guilds.

I like the feature and would use it for our 2 teams BUT only if the progression from each team counted toward the guild's progression like it does now without this feature.

So currently the team search function is useless in a manner anyone looking for a guild is easily familiar with. Maybe there is a different way to search it, but I couldn't easily just jump to the realm and find it.
So you cannot really test it yet, but you'll be able in a couple of days.
1. Guild page will contain a list of teams with their progress.
2. The team page will be linked to the parent guild page.
3. In the rankings, there will be combined names [team name] / [guild name], so that people see what guild is it.
2. There probably will be Guilds-only rankings.

I'm sorry if you've already answered, I'm confused b/c I don't see why we'd want to do it if it's going to show the guild at 0/8.
Probably we'll add also "Guilds-only" rankings.

Also if a team dies off and (not in my case, thinking more for others), is there an option to remove the team from both the guild and the wowprogress (or an option to disable the listing from being ranked in wowprogress in cases like that)

Why I am asking is because our official guild page has been rolled back to 1/8 (NM) progress from 4/8 (M).

Why is this? My guild raids with exactly 10 very often, and is cross-realm specifically so we can at least get to 10 at all. I was hoping this would let us include our regular cross-realmers in our rankings but this 11-player requirement makes it valueless for us. (I know heroic rankings mean nothing to most people, but I don't understand requiring 11 instead of 10 for this.)

While currently we haven't had all our members join the raid team yet, we do have 81 people in our Facebook Group. Thus when we hit the limit we would love to keep adding our members without having to kick other people.

I've now basically lost access to updating my weekend team as a part of the parent guild due to the rename.
which has far less bosses down would be tracked same like raid team and become ranked higher than the raid team.
Can you help there?

1. If I created the two teams that I have in my guild, it would appear like all my raiders just "left guild", according to your description. Players joining/leaving guilds is an indicator of guild stability. I always look for this at larger guilds to see if they are stable.
2. A Guilded raid team is currently progressed on a realm (connected). A non-guilded raid team may have no server affiliation. Technically neither are realm-affiliated unless all participants are realm-members.
The Realm Ranking part is about to go haywire even if you add your guild prefix concept. I'm not sure you confirm participant's realm in even guild progress, but it should come into play even today.
That is... You'd need 2 rankings lists...
1. All Raid Team Ranking (all regional realms) - Any Team Name (Guild or no Guild) against each other ... one big list.
2. Realm Ranking - Any Team (Guild or no Guild) where raid members are restricted to same connected realms (i.e. no x-realm help).

Anyway. I would LOVE if you guys can implement "Previously known as: Name" in the section where the name goes. A lot of people decline invites due to checking up your character and not seeing progress due to not being synced. A previously known as for name changes would be really great. Thanks!

It doesn't exist at all and we have no way to manage it. How do we move it?
