Hellfire Ring problem (fixed)

Note that Hellfire Ring is still missing in the Battle.net API.
If your profile has this ring equipped, all your stats DiabloProgress will be invalid. It's better to replace the ring for awhile.
Blizzard developers promised to fix the issue in a few days.

This is a short FAQ & About post. Please read if you have any questions.

What is DiabloProgress?

DiabloProgress is a Diablo 3 Database and Community Website for advanced Diablo 3 players.
It was created by authors of WoWProgress, the biggest WoW Rankings Website.

How do you get the data? Do you steal the data from Blizzard?

The data is retrieved via official Battle.net API.
We are on the light side.

How do I add my characters?

Just enter your Battletag in the search form.

Some of my characters are missing

Press "Update Now" button on your character list page.
We are loading 55+ level characters only.

How often the data is updated?

All characters are updated automatically every few days.
Top 1000 characters are updated automatically every few hours.

Do I have to register in order to update my data?

No.

Do I have to update my data manually?

No, we update every character, you don't have to do that.
But if you want a faster update, just press "Update Now" button.

Why my DPS is wrong?

Dismiss your follower and disable all buffs.

Okay, I dismissed the follower and disabled my buffs, but my DPS is still wrong?

You have to change every secondary skill that increase your damage.
Secondary skills are buffs too. Double-check it, please.

DPS still doesn't match with DPS in-game

Yes, there can be some difference, about 10-1000 damage.
We are going fix it, but don't have time yet.

I think Heroscore formula must be changed/improved

We are going to improve Heroscore in future.
Your ideas are welcome, just keep in mind that Heroscore must not depend on classes and skills.

Aren't these top characters bots?

No.

Best Classes in current Paragon Ladder

Are you wondering which class is best in current Paragon Ladder?
Let's take a look.

Top Paragon Level by Class, Normalized

First we counted class population: Classes in Heroscore Top 10K. That's essentially amount of well geared characters by each class.

Then we counted Classes in Paragon Top 1000.

The result is Paragon Top 1000 normalized by Heroscore Top 10K.

- Barbarians and Wizards are more advanced classes for Paragon Leveling

- Not only Witch Doctor is underpopulated class, they are the worst class for Paragon Leveling

There are 3045 well geared barbarians and 767 well geared witch doctors. The difference is 4x.
And there are 407 barbarians and 41 witch doctors in Paragon Ladder Top 1000. The difference is 10x.

That was Softcore Ladder.

Hardcore Ladder

Here we see different ratios.
In Hardcore Witch Doctor is the best class for Paragon Leveling.
And Demon Hunters and Wizards are slightly behind.

134 elite kills per hour

Alkaizer went from level 76 to level 81 in about 24 hours (period measured by "last logout timestamp" attribute).
Amount of kills on his account:

- Level 76, Elite Kills: 68556, Lifetime Kills: 1216106

- Level 81, Elite Kills: 71787, Lifetime Kills: 1294228

So it was 78122 normal kills and 3231 elite kills in 1 day.

Or 3255 normal kills per hour and 134 elite kills per 1 hour.

Diablo Heroes Stats include Paragon Level

Diablo Heroes Stats such as Heroscore, DPS Unbuffed, EHP Unbuffed, etc have been updated and they are now include Paragon Level.

Each Paragon Level gives +3 primary stats, +1 secondary stats, +2 vitality and +3% magic/gold find.

Some people asking us why their DPS listed incorrectly.

Before comparing, please make sure that:
- follower is dismissed
- all passive skills that increase your DPS are disabled
- all active buffs are disabled

Please double-check that passive skills are disabled:
Demon Hunters - Archery
Wizards - Glass Cannon
Barbarians - Weapons Master
etc

If there is still significant difference (no confirmed cases so far), please send email to admin[at]wowprogress.com including your battletag and DPS in-game.

Diablo 3 Skills Usage by Top Players Statistics

Now you can see Diablo 3 Skills usage statistics on DiabloProgress.
These stats include:
- active skills percentage
- passive skills percentage
- runes usage percentage

- Skills Used by Paragon Top50 players

- Skills Used by Heroscore Top50 players

- Skills Used by DPS Unbuffed Top50 players

Heroscore and +Exp% gems

Heroscore now counts +Exp% gem (red color) in you helm.
Red and purple (+Life%) gems grant equal amount of score.

How to update your Paragon Level

- Logout from the game (exiting to the menu is not enough, you have to exit to the login screen)

- Go to your hero page on DiabloProgress

- Press "Update Now" button

How to add Battletag with special characters

If you have special characters in your Battletag (Hieroglyph, Cyrillic, Umlauts) and if you were unable to add it on DiabloProgress, here is a solution for you:

1. Enter your Battletag in the Battletag Form and press "Go".

2. Wait for "Your search did not match any objects" message.

3. You will see "Lookup on Battle.net" button below. Press the button and wait 5-10 seconds.

4. Reload the page.

5. Profit!

Diablo 3 PvP Dummy Ranking

We have added PvP Dummy Score to DiabloProgress.

PvP Dummy score answers to question:
Two heroes meet each other in arena, if they stand still and only DPS each other, without buffs, who would win?

Formula for PvP Dummy Score:

dps * ehp * K_DUMMY

All the values are unbuffed.

Explanation:
Hero1 kills Hero2 in ehp2/dps1 seconds.
Hero2 kills Hero1 in ehp1/dps2 seconds.
If ehp2/dps1 < ehp1/dps2, then ehp2*dps2 < ehp1*dps1.

P.S.
Unfortunately this score doesn't include life replenishment, as it cannot be expressed with single value.
It depends on dps of the opponent. If dps of the opponent is lower, then life replenishment works better as the fight lasts longer.

Diablo Heroscore Ranking

DiabloProgress introduces Heroscore - the ultimate Diablo 3 Ranking system!

- Heroscore Rankings

Heroscore aggregates all important hero unbuffed stats:
- DPS
- Effecitve HP
- Life Replenishment
- Class-specific Resource stats

Most of the value comes from DPS and EHP with some addition of Life Replenishment and Resource.

Current formula is looking like this:

dps*K_DPS + sqrt(ehp)*K_EHP + life_repl*K_LIFE_REPL + resource*K_RESOURCE

All the values are unbuffed.

Life Replenishment includes Life per Kill, Life on Hit, Life Regen and Life steal.

Resource includes:
- Maximum Fury (barbarian)
- Hatred Regen, Max Discipline (demon hunter)
- Spirit Regen (monk)
- Mana Regen, Maximum Mana (witch doctor)
- AP per Crit, Maximum AP (wizard)

We may review this formula in future.

Update:
Heroscore now counts +Exp% gem (red color) in you helm.
Red and purple (+Life%) gems grant equal amount of score.

Diablo Effective HP Ranking

DiabloProgress includes now Effective HP calculation!

- Unbuffed EHP

EHP is the amount of damage from level 63 mob character can take before he dies.
It's based on:
- Life
- Armor
- Resistance
- Dodge
- Block
- 30% damage reduction for melee classes
- melee and ranged damage reduction from items

Block calculation assumes that mobs hit for 70K damage.
Dodge included only if character already have more than 150K EHP without dodge and block in order to exclude pure glass cannons.

True unbuffed stats
